3. Permissions We Request
To provide a seamless experience, Parwaaz requires the following device permissions:
- CAMERA & PHOTOS To capture photos for your profile picture or to
share in study chats. We use the system's secure Photo Picker, meaning we do not require or request access to your entire media library. We only access the specific, individual images you explicitly choose to share.
- MICROPHONE To record voice messages in the in-app chat
feature.
- STORAGE & ALL FILES ACCESS (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) To download and save study materials like PDFs, PPTXs, and programming files directly to your device's native Downloads folder for offline access. This permission allows the app to manage these downloaded educational resources outside of its app-specific storage.
- LOCATION, WI-FI, & BLUETOOTH Used ONLY for device-to-device
file sharing via WiFi Direct (Nearby Connections API). Android requires these permissions to
discover and connect to nearby devices. Your location and device data are NEVER stored or shared
with our servers.
- NOTIFICATIONS To alert you instantly about new
scholarships, job postings, and critical study material.
4. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.
We only share data with trusted service providers necessary for the app to function:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud storage, push notifications
- Google AdMob: Advertising (collects device data for ad personalization)
- Cloudflare R2: Secure file storage for uploaded media
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You maintain full control over your data and may
request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app
settings under "Profile → Delete Account".
6. Children's Privacy
Our application is specifically intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect or
solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Strict Firebase security rules to protect user database access
- Hashed and encrypted sensitive data where applicable
